Our Approach

Our GPC team takes an interdisciplinary approach to our work, drawing on our backgrounds in psychology, communication/applied linguistics, and international business. We each have 30 years or more of professional experience in meeting clients’ needs in communication, culture, and relationship management.

Based on our extensive research in these areas, we use six key frameworks in our work. They all emphasise two key features:

  • The importance of attending to the context in planning and interpreting what is said and done;
  • The need to analyse and reflect on working experiences.

The Global Fitness Development Cycle: the key facets of cultural growth for an organisation and its employees

The Interaction Compass: the two key axes that leaders and managers need to handle effectively when interacting with employees and clients

The TRIPS rapport management framework: the five elements that affect working culture

The GAAFFE rapport triggers: the 6 key trigger factors that promote or undermine rapport

The RelATE interaction management strategies: three overarching strategies for personal growth, each with its sub-strategies

The TRIPS challenge tools: tools that utilise the RelATE interaction management strategies

We have developed a wide range of tools and resources for our support sessions, and we are actively engaged in further development, including the design of bespoke tools and resources to meet clients’ needs.

For example, we have:

  • Diagnostic profilers (e.g. Relationship Management Profiler, Global Teamworking Profiler, Global Fitness Profiler) and needs analysis tools for initial planning and priority mapping.
  • e-Learning on culture in the workplace: our interactive e-Course, GlobalPeople@Work has 3 modules: Seeing Culture@Work, Diverse Teams@Work and Global Leaders@Work make up. The modules can be studied fully online or in blended mode.
  • A large portfolio of authentic case studies and tool templates.
